The return of cinnamon rolls, soups, hot chocolate and dishes that require more time in the kitchen is one of the signs that the season has changed. Until 18 October, Apolónia Supermarkets are bringing these and other flavours together in an autumn campaign featuring new products, Portuguese producers and several tastings at its Algarve stores.
The selection covers different times of the day. The bakery section features almond tarts, brownies, chocolate cakes, cinnamon rolls and recipes with figs, walnuts and almonds. Savoury options include soups, ramen, risottos, stuffed pasta, curries and slow-cooked dishes, at a time of year when these types of recipes once again become more popular for meals at home.
Drinks also reflect the change of season. Speciality coffees, teas and infusions, matcha, chai and hot chocolate are among the options, alongside biscuits, biscotti, madeleines and chocolates.
But the campaign goes beyond the shelves. Over the coming weeks, Apolónia will welcome producers and host tastings, allowing customers to discover more about some of the products available in its stores. One of the new arrivals is Alentejo brand 4C Olive Oil, which will now be available at Apolónia with three different olive oils. Soul Seeds will also present different combinations featuring its premium spreads.
Olive oil will also have a stronger presence in this edition of Autumn Flavours. Among the Portuguese producers being highlighted are Monte Rosa and Apicultura Algarve, as part of a selection that gives greater visibility to Portuguese production and, in particular, projects from the south of the country.
Another returning producer comes from Castro Marim. Quinta da Fornalha, which is dedicated to organic and regenerative farming and is one of the largest producers of organic figs on the Iberian Peninsula, will once again be represented at Apolónia. Figs, one of the products most closely associated with Algarve production, are therefore included in a campaign that combines international products with local ingredients and producers.
There will also be coffee to taste, and not just in the usual way. Humano Coffee Roasters will return to the stores with a tasting and a demonstration of new brewing equipment available at Bazar Apolónia. The event will showcase different preparation methods and the differences each can make to the final result in the cup.
Until 18 October, Autumn Flavours will bring together seasonal products, new additions and in-store experiences, with a selection ranging from breakfast to dinner and featuring some of the ingredients most characteristic of this time of year.
The campaign is available at Apolónia Supermarkets in the Algarve, at its stores in Almancil, Galé and Lagoa.
