The event will feature Richard Martin, CEO of MBC, who will be welcomed by Martim Krupenski, Managing Partner of Morais Leitão, and Raquel Sampaio, Director of Direito Mental.
This Forum marks the official launch of the collaboration between Direito Mental and the MBC and represents a significant step toward transforming workplace culture in law firms in Portugal.
The Mindful Business Charter, an initiative created in the United Kingdom, has been adopted by over 130 organizations, including major law firms, corporate legal departments, and financial institutions. Its mission is to foster work environments grounded in empathy, collaboration, and balance.
“This partnership will allow us to bring to the Portuguese context practices that have already demonstrated tangible results in talent retention, productivity, and mental health within the UK legal sector,” says Raquel Sampaio, founder of Direito Mental.
The Forum will be structured in two sessions:
- The first session, exclusive to Managing Partners, will focus on the importance of integrating the MBC and the challenges of adopting it in Portugal.
- The second session, aimed at partners and human resources leaders, will present MBC tools and encourage a discussion on their practical implementation within law firms.
Direito Mental, the non-profit association organizing the event, currently works in partnership with several leading law firms and financial institutions in Portugal, including:
MLGTS, VdA, PLMJ, Cuatrecasas, Uría Menéndez, Abreu Advogados, Sérvulo & Associados, CMS Rui Pena & Arnaut, Miranda & Associados, Novo Banco, SRS, Eversheds Sutherland, SPS Advogados, TELLES, CCA, Linklaters, DLA Piper, Sofia Leite Borges & Associados, CCSL, Pax Legal, and MFA Legal.

About the Mindful Business Charter
The Mindful Business Charter (MBC) was created in the UK in 2018 as a response to the culture of overwork and constant availability. Through a set of guiding principles and collaborative practices, it fosters more balanced and healthier professional relationships, with a positive impact on team performance and well-being.
