According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), until Thursday, the weather will be affected by a westerly current, which will bring precipitation, especially on Wednesday and especially in the North and Central regions.
On Thursday, this scenario will be restricted to the Minho and Douro Litoral regions, the statement added.
From Friday afternoon until the 16th, "the intensification of the anticyclonic ridge should provide partly cloudy or clear skies”.
Maximum temperatures, which remain below average for the season, will rise slightly on Thursday, with the exception of Minho and the Douro Litoral.
The IPMA also states that a new, more significant and widespread increase is expected on Sunday.
According to forecasts, on the 14th and 15th, temperatures should range between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius in the South, in the Tagus Valley, and in some areas of the North and Central interior, "values above normal for this time of year”.
In the rest of the country, highs should remain below 30 degrees Celsius.
