Long hailed as the future of high-speed travel, hyperloop technology has taken a major step closer to reality.

Dutch firm Hardt Hyperloop has completed a record-breaking test at the European Hyperloop Centre, reaching 85kph and successfully performing a lane switch manoeuvre, which is seen as critical for scalable infrastructure.
Proponents of hyperloop claim that it could one day take thousands of trucks off the road and many more planes out of the sky.
