After missing the September training camp and matches in Armenia and Hungary due to injury, Leão and Semedo were now called up by coach Roberto Martínez and returned to training at the Cidade do Futebol in Oeiras.
Not included in the Spanish coach's squad since the Euro 2024 finals, Matheus Nunes also returned to the main pitch at the Portuguese Football Federation complex, in a training session in which the first 15 minutes were open to the media.
During this period, the players performed the usual warm-up exercises, first with and without the ball.
João Cancelo and João Neves are the major absences from the October training camp.
Portugal hosts the Republic of Ireland on Saturday and Hungary three days later, on the 14th, in two matches scheduled for the José Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon.
At the start of qualifying, Portugal travelled to Yerevan to thrash Armenia 5-0, followed by another victory in Budapest against Hungary (3-2).
The Portuguese team leads the group with six points, three more than Armenia, while Hungary and Ireland have only one, the result of their draw.
Portugal can now secure qualification and secure their ninth World Cup appearance, their seventh in a row, if they win both matches and if Armenia fails to win either of their matches (Hungary in Budapest and Ireland in Dublin).
The group winner automatically secures a spot in next year's tournament, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and which will feature 48 teams for the first time. The runner-up will have to compete in the knockout rounds.
