There are also features for kids, such as the “Kids Club”, which “has been set up in the main building, featuring a colourful new design. Outside, there is also a separate swimming pool for children, and by the end of the year, the spacious children's and adventure playground, covering an area of more than 3,500 square metres, will also be completely renovated.”

Sustainability

“A key part of the renovation was the renewal and installation of sustainable infrastructure.” Being located in a municipality that “has an average of more than 300 days of sunshine per year. This promises sunny holidays even in winter and helps to reduce the carbon footprint: with a newly installed photovoltaic system with a maximum output of 190 kWp, a large part of the electricity requirement will be covered by solar energy in future. The heating technology was also replaced.”

Future plans also include stopping using gas “for heating, and the resort will now be powered by electricity-driven air conditioning systems that can cool or heat. Further measures included the complete renovation of the technical installations in the main building and the installation of a new and efficient water treatment system.”

After the renovation, “the complex now offers a modern interpretation of a typical coastal resort without losing its local identity. Its proximity to pristine sandy beaches and the fascinating old town of Albufeira with its winding streets and warm hospitality, as well as the Mediterranean climate – with mild winters and hot but pleasant summers thanks to the influence of the Atlantic – speak for themselves.”
