Temperatures are expected to reach up to 30 degrees Celsius in certain regions, according to the IPMA (Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere).

The Madeira archipelago and the districts of Viseu, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Lisbon, Santarém, Portalegre, Setúbal, Évora, Beja, and Faro are at very high risk levels. Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Vila Real, Bragança, Aveiro, Coimbra, and Leiria are at high risk levels.

Maximum temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius are expected in Beja, Évora, Setúbal, and Santarém on Saturday, 18 April.

Lisbon, Braga, Bragança, Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Coimbra, Viseu, Vila Real, and Leiria are expected to reach maximum temperatures of 25-28°C from 17 to 19 April. The UV scale has five levels, from extreme to low risk.

For regions at extreme risk, IPMA recommends avoiding sun exposure whenever possible.

Regarding regions with very high risk, IPMA advises using sunglasses with a UV filter, a hat, a t-shirt, a parasol, sunscreen, and avoiding exposing children to the sun.
