The event will take place in Sagres, where, at this time of year, the Algarve village becomes a great place for migratory birds that travel from Africa.

These birds attract experts in the sector, such as ornithologists, but also people who are passionate about nature and wildlife enthusiasts. The programme goes beyond birdwatching. The participants can participate in field trips, boat tours, bird ringing and monitoring sessions. It is also possible to attend short courses, talks and environmental workshops, as well as hiking, photography courses, historical tours and even dolphin watching.

The 2026 featured species is the razorbill (Alca toda), a seabird that is commonly found in Portuguese waters during autumn and winter.
