Taking place from 31 July to 2 August at Parque de Lazer das Figuras, beside Fórum Algarve, the free event has become a highlight of the Algarve’s summer calendar. Organisers describe it as the largest American vehicle event in Portugal, attracting enthusiasts from across the country and beyond.
Visitors can expect an impressive display of vehicles spanning more than a century of automotive history, from early 20th-century classics and iconic 1950s and 1960s models to powerful muscle cars, pickup trucks and modern American sports cars.
More than just a car show
Alongside the exhibition, the event will feature stalls selling retro clothing, automotive memorabilia and military collectables, as well as a selection of street food vendors. The popular Best Pin-Up Americancars Algarve competition also returns, celebrating the timeless fashion and style of the 1940s and 1950s.
Music plays a central role throughout the weekend, with tribute performances to the Ramones and Ozzy Osbourne on Friday, Creed and Iron Maiden on Saturday, and AC/DC closing the event on Sunday. Live entertainment will continue throughout the festival, creating an atmosphere inspired by classic American motoring culture.
One of the weekend’s biggest attractions will take place at 11am on Sunday, when participating vehicles parade through the streets of Faro, giving residents and visitors the opportunity to see many of the classic models in motion before they return to the exhibition grounds.
A growing Algarve tradition
First held in 2012, Americancars Algarve has grown steadily over the past decade into one of Portugal’s best-known motoring events. Combining vintage vehicles, music, food and family-friendly entertainment, it continues to draw thousands of visitors each year and offers a unique opportunity to experience American car culture in the heart of the Algarve.
Admission is free throughout the three-day event.
