Now in its fifth edition, the festival will once again take place in the Zona Ribeirinha de Portimão, next to Clube Naval, with the programme starting from 6pm each day.

This year's line-up brings together artists from Portugal and Brazil, with a different programme planned for each of the three nights.

The festival opens on Wednesday, 12 August, with Brazilian country music duo Maiara & Maraisa, who are among the best-known names in the sertanejo scene in Brazil. Portuguese rapper Chico da Tina will also perform on the opening night, alongside Sertabeijo.

Thursday, 13 August, will have a strong Brazilian presence, with rapper Veigh and singer Kevinho taking to the stage. Portuguese artist Kiko is Hot completes the line-up for the second evening.

The final night, on Friday, 14 August, will see Brazilian rapper Orochi perform in Portimão, joined by Portuguese rapper Lon3r Jony and Cripta.

Mar Me Quer was first launched in Portimão in 2022 and has since become a regular part of the city's summer programme. Over the years, the festival has brought a mix of Portuguese and international artists to the Algarve, while also building its identity around environmental and social initiatives.

Sustainability continues to be an important part of the event. Previous editions have introduced measures to reduce the festival's environmental footprint, and the organisers once again aim to combine the three days of music with greater awareness around environmental issues.

Accessibility is another focus. Concerts will include interpretation in Portuguese Sign Language, making the performances accessible to deaf members of the audience.

The festival takes place during one of the busiest periods of the summer in Portimão. It follows shortly after the city's Sardine Festival, which celebrated its 30th edition this year, continuing a packed August of events along the riverside.
