The event takes place on 10 and 11 October and will fill more than 7,800 square metres of Forum Braga with dogs, cats and exotic animals, alongside exhibitors and specialists from the sector.

One of the main attractions will be the dog shows. On Saturday, 10 October, the 19th Braga National Dog Show will take place, followed by the 16th Braga International Dog Show on Sunday.

More than 1,000 dogs from dozens of national and international breeds are expected to take part across the two days, competing in front of Portuguese and international judges.

Cats will also have their own space at the event, with an International Cat Show organised in partnership with the Portuguese Cat Club.

For those interested in something a little different, there will also be an area dedicated to exotic animals. The organisers mention species including snakes, iguanas, tarantulas and scorpions.

Visitors will also find exhibitors covering everything from pet food and hygiene to toys, accessories, veterinary clinics, training schools, pet hotels and animal associations.

The event runs from 10am to 7pm on both Saturday and Sunday, with tickets priced at €3.50 for anyone over 10. Children aged four to 10 pay €2, while younger children can enter for free.

Although the weekend brings together breeders, specialists and plenty of animals, dogs and cats will not be available for sale at the event.
