The project is "intended to mitigate the risk of flooding in the urban area of ​​the town, contributing to strengthening the safety of the population, the resilience of the territory and the protection of public and private infrastructure potentially affected by extreme hydrological phenomena," says the tender announcement.

The intervention is divided into two lots, with the first involving works upstream of the town of Lourinhã, in the Lisbon district, costing €2.1 million and with an execution period of 11 months.

The second lot includes interventions in the urban sections and downstream, estimated at €2.5 million and with an execution period of 23 months.
