Rossio is always full of life, with its cafés, beautiful buildings and people coming and going in every direction. From here, we walked down Rua Augusta, one of Lisbon's best-known pedestrian streets, passing shops, restaurants and plenty of street performers along the way.

At the end of the street, you pass under the impressive Arco da Rua Augusta and arrive at Praça do Comércio, with the Tagus River opening up in front of you.

If you visit with children, there is often something to keep them entertained too. On our visits, we regularly see a street performer making large soap bubbles near the square, and of course, the children immediately gather around trying to catch them.

During the summer, Lisbon gets even busier, and the streets are full of tourists, but for me, that is part of Lisbon – busy streets, people everywhere, beautiful architecture, street performers and always something happening around you.
