Apple lost its long-running legal battle with the European Commission in September 2024 over tax advantages granted in Ireland.

The company was ordered to pay €13 billion in taxes plus interest. Apple says most of its corporate income taxes are payable in the US and Ireland, where its Cork-based European hub serves customers across more than 120 countries.
