So, if you tend to bring half of your household to the beach, as our family does, it may take a little while to get everything down there—and back up again. However, I would say it is worth the effort.
This beach has a slightly different atmosphere from many others in the Algarve. Perhaps it is because of its location below the Vilalara resort, or maybe it is thanks to Eco Beach Bar, the only bar directly on the beach.

High cliffs and impressive rock formations surround the beach on both sides, creating the feeling of being tucked away in a private little cove.
I love spending the whole day here and stopping for drinks or lunch at Eco Beach Bar. The bar has a comfortable seating area directly on the sand, but you can also head upstairs and enjoy your food and drinks while looking out over the beach.

The long staircase means this is not the easiest beach to visit with a pushchair or for anyone with limited mobility. However, for those happy to tackle the steps, Praia da Cova Redonda offers an attractive setting, a relaxed atmosphere and everything needed for a relaxing day beside the sea.
Best for: A relaxing full day at the beach, scenic surroundings, lunch and drinks by the sea.
