A study held in Tokyo by the University of Manchester found that fewer air conditioning systems guarantee less heat waste released into the city, and that rainwater can be the solution.

The study in Japan concluded that collecting rainwater on roofs in medium-sized tanks was more effective than using bigger tanks.
This study could help identify new strategies to reduce the effects of heatwaves on people.
