The National Institute of Statistics (INE) stated that in August “all regions showed positive year-on-year variations in housing rents, with Madeira registering the most intense increase (6.9%)”.

In monthly terms, the average value of housing rentals per square meter varied by 0.3%, compared with 0.4% in the previous month.

The regions with the largest positive monthly variation were the Setúbal Peninsula and Madeira (0.5%), with no region showing a negative variation in average housing rents.
