While staying in Porto for a few days, we were really craving Italian food. We found a restaurant not far from our hotel and started walking there, but on the way we passed Spacca Napoli.

It doesn’t have outside seating, but it has really large windows, so you can see inside when walking past. And when sitting there, you can watch people walking along one of Porto’s pretty streets.

Something was telling us not to keep walking and to try this restaurant instead, and it turned out to be a very good intuition!

We were greeted by an extremely friendly waiter, who even knew a few words in my native language. He told us he always tries to learn something from customers visiting from different countries, which was such a nice little touch.

But of course, the most important part was the food.

We had one of the best pizzas and pastas we have tried in a long time. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we came back again during our stay in Porto.

The menu is actually a mix of Italian and Turkish cuisine, so there is much more than pizza and pasta to choose from. The Turkish dishes also seem to be very popular with customers, although this time we stuck with the Italian food.

Sometimes the best places are the ones you don’t plan to visit at all. Spacca Napoli was definitely one of those Porto discoveries.
