Global Citizen Solutions’ Wealth & Migration Summit at EPIC SANA Marquês Hotel on 5 and 6 November puts the leading authorities on residency, citizenship, and wealth planning in the same room to ask the questions that really matter to international families. One of the key themes of the Summit is exploring the future of wealth and what that means for you.
The two-day Summit is presented by international journalist and broadcaster Hadley Gamble, with CNN Portugal as the media partner.
Patricia Casaburi of Global Citizen Solutions, Francisca van Dijken of Citigroup Private Bank, Bernardo Meyrelles of EFG, and António Henriques of Bison Bank will bring different insights and viewpoints to a question that many of Portugal’s residents may be asking: where is wealth moving, what does the future hold for the next five years, and why?
They are part of a speaker lineup that also includes senior figures and executives from Green Ocean Global, Capital Green, and Julius Baer will be attending, alongside government representatives, tax and legal advisers, and residency specialists.[NS1]
The Summit is hosted by Global Citizen Solutions, which marks its tenth anniversary this year. Its team of more than 100 professionals works across legal, immigration, and advisory services, covering more than 50 residency and citizenship programmes, and its Global Intelligence Unit publishes cutting-edge research comparing countries as places to live, invest, and hold citizenship.
The New Geography of Wealth and Mobility
Sessions at the Summit include “The Future of Global Mobility: The Global Citizen in 2026 and Beyond”, which looks at how people are choosing to live, work, and invest across borders, and what that picture may look like in the future.
“Where Wealth Is Moving, and Why: New Hubs and What They Mean for You” turns to the money itself: which places are attracting wealth, what is drawing it there, and what that means for individuals and families.
Expert Voices on the Future of Wealth
Patricia Casaburi, Founder and CEO of Global Citizen Solutions, works closely with clients on a daily basis looking for residency and citizenship solutions, and she’s seen how the questions are changing. Where families once came for a single visa application, many now want a broader plan covering residency, tax, banking, and their children’s education. That gives her a wide view of which countries families are considering, how Portugal compares, and what this means for wealth planning from a practical perspective.

Bernardo Meyrelles, Country Head for Portugal at EFG, brings a local view. Settling in Portugal often raises new questions about where accounts and investments are held, how they are managed across borders, and how they fit with a new tax residency.
António Henriques, Chief Executive Officer of Bison Bank, adds the perspective of a bank based in Portugal. For international residents, knowing how local institutions work with clients whose assets sit in several countries is a practical part of building a life here.
Francisca van Dijken, EMEA Head of Global Client Solutions at Citigroup Private Bank, works with families whose assets, residences and responsibilities span several countries. Her role gives her a view across Europe, the Middle East and Africa of how those families decide where to base themselves and where to keep their wealth.

Why it Matters in Portugal
The way families and individuals approach wealth planning is constantly changing. Policy shifts, tax reforms, and a less predictable world are prompting many families to look again at where they live and where they keep their assets. Portugal has become one of the destinations drawing that movement, sought after for its high quality of life and safety aspects, ranking in seventh position in the 2026 Global Peace Index.
Many international residents have already made one big move. Now they are thinking about what comes next: how to structure their wealth, what the future holds for their children, and whether a second residency or citizenship elsewhere would add useful options.
Hearing industry specialists offer different perspectives provides context that headlines can rarely provide. Having experts from different specialities in one room can help residents plan their next step with a clearer view of the options. On the second day of the Summit, the programme turns more towards families, with sessions on wealth management for global citizens, a look inside the private bank, “Building a Global Plan B, C and D”, and education opportunities and challenges.
Who Can Attend
The Wealth & Migration Summit aims to provide attendees with the building blocks and practical steps to structure their future. It is open to individuals and families exploring cross-border wealth planning, as well as the lawyers, bankers, and advisers who work with them. Attendees do not need to work in the industry or be planning a move to attend.
Attendance is limited to 200 people, and with two networking lunches and a cocktail reception on the second day, there is plenty of time for attendees to discuss their options with speakers and specialists. Country-by-country workshops run alongside the main stage, and all sessions are held in English.
