There never seems to be enough time in the day, but always time for checking out the endless list of what has to be picked up, dropped off. Animals, where are they? Ready for sterilising? “We are looking for good homes. There is one Siamese cat, a young black kitten, Amigo, our shy canine loner youngster who is really a sweetie and needs a loving family.”
APAA have over the years, established themselves as a helping hand to other associations and shelters. “We all try and do what we can in a world where animals need us humans to help them.” The internet is of course fast becoming the ‘place’ and sometimes it is used for the betterment of society.
‘Facebook’ is one of the ways that APAA reach their community. “We can’t keep up with all the animals, their names, ages and sizes. Temperaments. Sometimes a swap takes place, two-for-one, in this case three cats have been rehomed by Cadela Carlota. But still leaves us with a black kitten.”
Unfortunately black cats are bad-luck in Portugal. So the desertion rate is critical. The ‘Good-lucker’s are needed to home them! “Lisa our Editor beavers away to keep us on top of the ever growing abandoned animals list. Which changes almost daily. So please check our section out. But always make sure you have your heart in the right place… a furry feline or canine friend is for life.” APAA are always on hand to give advice for re-homing and sometimes that extra help when needed. A special look out for canine-lovers ‘Amigo’ needs a home real bad!
