In a statement sent to the Lusa news agency, the CIM of Beira Baixa reported that the region registered 2,272 applications, corresponding to €74.33 million in identified damages.

“These numbers reflect the exhaustive work and the proximity of our municipalities to the affected populations and businesses. The volume of support already approved is significant, but our absolute priority is to ensure that the applications still under analysis are validated as quickly as possible, so that the aid quickly reaches those who need it to rebuild their lives,” said the president of the CIM of Beira Baixa, João Lobo.

The mayor, who is also the president of the Proença-a-Nova City Council, also highlighted that, of this total, "the authorities have already approved €57.34 million to support the recovery of the territory."

Information provided by the CIM states that during a meeting with the coordinator of the Mission Structure for the Reconstruction of the Central region, Paulo Fernandes, Sertã leads in the number of processes, with 1,136 applications.

In the context of permanent owner-occupied housing, Beira Baixa registers an approval rate of 62.5%.

"This translates into 1,420 applications already validated, and the others are in the final stage of completion or under final technical evaluation."
