This means the country’s airport network has now exceeded 43 million passengers in the first seven months of the year, up 2.4% from the corresponding period in 2025, after setting new all-time monthly records in almost every month to date.

During the month, international traffic remained the main feature of passenger movement, making up 82.7% of arrivals and 81.5% of departures.

Europe remained the top region for both origins and destinations, representing more than 66% of connections, with the Americas next.

Traffic links with Africa also performed well, achieving the highest rate of increase over the period, with growth exceeding 8% in both inbound and outbound traffic. In terms of origin and destination countries, the United Kingdom was the clear leader, followed by France, Spain, Germany, and Italy.

Regional infrastructure trends at the country’s main airports differed in July. Lisbon Airport recorded 3.4 million passengers, a minor decrease of 0.5% from the same month in 2025, but it still had the highest year-to-date total with 20.8 million passengers (48.4% of the national total).

Meanwhile, Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport in Porto rose 7.5% to 1.8 million passengers, while Faro Airport also increased by 4.1% to about 1.4 million passengers in the seventh month.
