US television networks announced a boycott of White House coverage after Donald Trump banned CNN, MS Now, and Politico, alleging that these media outlets spread fake news.

In this context, ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox News announced that they will no longer participate in the White House "pools," where one television channel ensures coverage for all others.

In addition to the announced boycott, the targeted media outlets filed a First Amendment lawsuit, arguing that the government does not need to decide what the press publishes. The same news outlets also report that credentials were revoked without any prior notice, with the justification that Donald Trump does not agree with the journalistic coverage of the aforementioned outlets.

The President of the United States has not been clear about the reasons for the bans; however, he says journalists should not be able to write or publish “fiction and lies when covering the President of the United States.”

Donald Trump is already known for his tense relationship with journalists and media outlets; he has allegedly threatened that other media companies may suffer the same consequences.
