The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) states that dozens of municipalities are at maximum fire danger in the districts of Bragança, Vila Real, Viseu, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Santarém, Portalegre and Faro.

More than 80 municipalities in the districts of Vila Real, Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Viseu, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, Leiria, Santarém, Portalegre, Évora and Faro are at very high risk.

The IPMA has placed almost the entire Alentejo region and dozens of municipalities in the districts of Faro, Setúbal, Lisbon, Leiria, Coimbra, Aveiro, Viseu, Porto, Braga and Viana do Castelo at high risk.

The risk of wildfires in rural areas, as determined by IPMA, has five levels, ranging from low to maximum. The calculations are obtained from air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and the amount of precipitation in the previous 24 hours.

IPMA expects a slight decrease in minimum temperatures in the interior North and the Algarve's leeward coast on 3 July, with periods of rain, generally light, being more likely on the central and western coast during the afternoon.

Castelo Branco, Évora, and Beja will be the hottest cities on 3 July, reaching 33 degrees; Faro will reach 30, Lisbon 28, and Porto 25. Minimum temperatures will vary between 14 degrees (Guarda and Viseu) and 20 degrees (Faro).
