The festival will take over Alameda da República from 5:30 pm to 11 pm on both days, with free entry.
This year’s edition will feature 24 chefs, including several familiar names from restaurants in Portimão and other parts of the Algarve. Among them are Leandro and Catarina from DUOO Gastro Theatre, João Marreiros from Loki, Emídio Freire from Faina, Luís Oliveira from Restaurante F and Nuno Martins from Numa.
Other Algarve chefs joining the event include José Lopes from Michelin-starred Bon Bon in Carvoeiro, Rui Mira from Casa do Rio in Estômbar, Rui Sequeira from Alameda in Faro, Albano Félix from Marisqueira LODO and Jossara Martins from Três Marias in Vila Real de Santo António.
They will be joined by chefs travelling from Lisbon, Évora, Alverca, Caldas da Rainha, Samora Correia and Madeira.
The chefs will prepare individual dishes in a relaxed street-food format. Dishes will cost €8.50, giving visitors the opportunity to try food from several chefs during the evening.
Local ingredients will also have an important place at the festival. Ten Algarve producers will be present at the Producers’ Market, where visitors can taste and buy regional products while meeting some of the people behind them.
Music, DJs, street entertainment and artistic performances will accompany the food programme throughout the weekend. Shared tables will be placed around the festival, creating an informal setting where people can sit together and try different dishes.
Created by Amuse Bouche with support from Portimão Council, Arrebita was developed to bring chefs, producers and the public together outside the usual restaurant environment.
The 2026 edition will place particular emphasis on Portimão’s connection to the sea, using local fish and Atlantic flavours alongside different cooking techniques and influences from around Portugal.
