Launched by the National Library Board, ReadSG allows participants to track reading, build streaks and earn virtual rewards through a government platform.

The initiative aims to make reading a sustainable habit, strengthening skills including critical thinking, imagination, empathy and attention through small, consistent steps.

The ReadSG Challenge is being piloted until December 31, with organisers aiming to attract 150,000 participants by September 2027.

Reading logged during part of September and October also contributes to the Read for Good charity drive, which is targeting 7.5 million reading minutes to raise up to S$150,000 for less privileged communities, supporting reading and learning resources for around 10,000 people.
