Organised by the Union of Parishes of Lagoa and Carvoeiro, the free concerts filled Wednesday evenings throughout July with live performances against one of the Algarve's most beautiful backdrops. Stretching towards Algar Seco, the boardwalk is one of Carvoeiro's best-known walking routes. The newly elected president of the União de Freguesias de Lagoa e Carvoeiro, José Manuel Fernandes, was also there, offering visitors a glass of wine before the concert.

We attended the final concert, with violinist João Feliz bringing this year's July programme to a close. Plenty of people stopped to listen as they walked along the boardwalk or enjoyed the views over the coastline.

Although this year's concert series has now come to an end, Wednesday evenings in the municipality of Lagoa still have plenty to offer. Throughout August, the popular Moonlight Walks (Caminhadas ao Luar) continue, inviting residents and visitors to explore different parts of the municipality after sunset. Organised by Lagoa Municipality, the free walks begin at 8:30 pm and cover around 5 kilometres, with participants also having the option of completing a second lap to extend the route to approximately 10 kilometres.

The remaining Moonlight Walks will take place on 5 August in Ferragudo and 12 August in Porches, offering another great way to spend a summer Wednesday evening while discovering different corners of the municipality in the cooler evening temperatures.
