Under the motto "Air: We All Breathe the Same Future!", the campaign also aims to bring citizens closer to knowledge about the quality of the air they breathe daily.
The Santarém City Council says that the initiative, promoted by the Circular Economy, Environment and Agriculture Division, aims to raise public awareness about "the importance of cleaner air and encourage the adoption of behaviours that contribute to improving the quality of life."
According to the city hall, in the Santarém region, air quality is mainly influenced by "the presence of tropospheric ozone and suspended particles," whose levels can increase due to factors such as vehicle traffic and periods of higher temperatures.
